Autumn Is a Pretty Little Devil In Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. (click post title above to see photo)

Blue Ridge Mountains fall preview: This photo was taken from Little Devils Stairs overlook on a fantastic autumn day in October 2012, in Shenandoah National Park. Elevation 3,000 feet. Looking northeast along the Blue Ridge Mountains, the brilliant patchwork of mother natures fall blanket covers the ridge tops and valleys alike against a backdrop of puffy white clouds and a crystal clear cobalt blue sky.

Farm Framed By Briliant Fall Color

A common, and beautiful scene during autumn in rural western Loudoun County in far northern Virginia.  A farm framed by brilliant fall colors, a beautiful sky, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

11/4/13: Another beautiful crisp and cool Autumn afternoon for a drive in the Blue Ridge mountain country of western Loudoun Co, VA. This brilliant sugar maple in full Autumn color offered several great perspectives with it as the foreground subject, and the beautiful view of Short Hill Mountain behind it. Look for a few more different perspective shots with this tree and it's background view to come soon! #fall #fallcolor #falltime #autumn #autumncolor #va #nova #virginia #blueridgemountains #blueridgemountainsva #blueridgemountainsvafall #westernloudoun #instaphoto #instagreat #igers_virginia #jj_virginia #pvillegazette #booneview #highaltitude #photography #fence #fencepost #fencepostfriday #fenceline #purcellville #country #countryliving

Local Western Loudoun Scenery

Early November, 2013: Under brilliant deep blue skies and white puffy clouds, a lone tree stands watch over a hilltop pasture with hay bales waiting to be used placed neatly next to it.  Scenes like this are common in western Loudoun county, Virginia.  We only need to take a moment to stop and enjoy them.

Just one of the many scenes I see daily when out and about locally. I passed this a few days ago but didn't have time to stop and take a photo and the light was bad as it was evening. Just a typical country scene out here in the foothills of the blue ridge mountain country of western Loudoun Co, VA. This is one of the few trees that still seems to have just about all of its leaves and very little color even. #fall #fallcolor #falltime #autumn #autumncolor #va #nova #virginia #blueridgemountains #blueridgemountainsva #blueridgemountainsvafall #westernloudoun #instaphoto #instagreat #igers_virginia #jj_virginia #pvillegazette #booneview #highaltitude #photography #fence #fencepost #fencepostfriday #nofilter #sky #country #countryliving #rural #global_igers

11/2/13: Another beautiful crisp and cool Autumn afternoon for a drive in the Blue Ridge mountain country of western Loudoun Co, VA today. Awesome views abound out here, especially in fall! Peak fall color finally arrived this past week and is almost past. This is the Point of Rocks Bridge on Route 15 looking south into Virginia. At it’s far end is Furnace Mountain in peak fall color. It is the northernmost of the Catoctin mountain in Loudoun, Co and in VA, and rises to a few feet shy of 900 feet. Taken from Point of Rocks, Md.

Another country road, this time up on Furnace Mountain (furnace mountain road) just outside of Taylorsyown. This is the mountain you see at the foot of the point of rocks bridge in a previous photo. It really was just as colorful up close. This road goes up over the mountain and gets up to an elevation of near 800 feet. #fall #fallcolor #falltime #autumn #autumncolor #va #nova #virginia #blueridgemountains #blueridgemountainsva #blueridgemountainsvafall #westernloudoun #instaphoto #instagreat #igers_virginia #jj_virginia #pvillegazette #booneview #highaltitude #photography #fallleaves #nofilter #catoctinmountain #furnacemountain

11/4/13: Another beautiful crisp and cool Autumn afternoon for a drive in the Blue Ridge mountain country of western Loudoun Co, VA. Today's drive took me to lots of beautiful local places, and some melancholic ones as well. Fitting to come across a beautiful old church cemetery when nearing the end of such a beautiful season. This is the Mount Olivet Church Cemetery which sits at the base of Short Hill Mountain in a very rural part of Loudoun Co. Beauty can be found everywhere, and this place was no exception. In a way it's a fitting celebration of life, and passing time. From what I could gather this large marker has seen 107 years of all 4 seasons. #fall #fallcolor #falltime #autumn #autumncolor #va #nova #virginia #blueridgemountains #blueridgemountainsva #blueridgemountainsvafall #westernloudoun #instaphoto #instagreat #igers_virginia #jj_virginia #pvillegazette #booneview #highaltitude #photography #cemetery #tombstone #church #old #nofilter
