Bright Blessings On This Winter Solstice.

The longest night and shortest day of the year is upon us….

12/21/16: Winter Solstice – At 5:44AM, eastern standard time, Winter creeps in under cover of darkness just before dawn. The shortest day is upon us, and the longest night ahead, still to come. During this time of waning light and ever present darkness in the north, My best wishes of Bright Blessings for a happy Winter Solstice everyone! Remember the old ways. Remember and be thankful for all that Mother Earth has given us. May the light illuminate this longest darkest night. As the Yule fires of renewal burn, remember the sun shall return, and we shall begin the cycle of life and the seasons anew. Back In Business!

img_2305     Hello everyone!   This post is to let those that follow this blog (if any anymore) that I am now back up and running.  My apologies for the very long (nearly 3 year) break.  Life sometimes gets in the way, and so does not having a computer to create content properly.  Those days are now long gone.  I am once again able to spend the time necessary to maintain my website / blog, commit to getting back to my photography in general, and best of all, I now have a brand spanking, shiny new, latest and greatest laptop computer to boot.

In the coming days and weeks you can expect to see work being done on the site. Things from continuing new photo posts, to updating / fixing old broken features and links, as well as new updated photos in my about me section, as well as regular updates to my Facebook page linked here. One major change that you will see, is that now I will be embedding Instagram posts directly into my posts here, instead of creating and uploading entire new posts.  What this does is enables me to share my work here in a far more speedy and timely manner, and makes it much easier and less time-consuming for me to do so.  I will also be seeking to look for and update ways to make this site more streamlined, connected, easier to navigate, and more interactive.  So please bear with me while I get back to work here.  Thank you so much for your patience with everything.  I would like to thank anyone and everyone that stuck with me over time.  Your support means everything to me and is appreciated more than you know.  Much love and may peace be upon you.  Happy holidays!

~ K.J.

1/4/2014 A beautiful, albeit frigid winter afternoon to spend at the enormous Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Washington county, Maryland. 4 different types of civil war cannons lined up in a row, with the New York State monument in the background. This now historic and serene snow covered countryside was hole to the bloodiest singe day battle of the entire Civil War. This area is not only full of American history, it is said to be loaded with paranormal activity now.
