Stone Pillar Icicles

Melting icicles cling to a stone entrance pillar at the historic Hillsboro Cemetery.

12/9/2013. Day after 5″ of snow followed by 1/2″ of ice (freezing rain) on top. This is the historic cemetery in Hillsboro, Virginia in western Loudoun in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Virginia. The town of Hillsboro was formally founded in 1802, though homes, farms and mills had been there much longer.
